The Rebalance Visualizer

The Investment Policy Statement sets a hard ceiling for two of the book's five buckets. This checks today's actual weight in each bucket against those real caps — not a hypothetical portfolio, this one — and lets you simulate a trim or an add before you actually place it.

Runs entirely in your browser. The slider below never leaves your device.

Bucket weights verified: July 26, 2026 · Computed from each held position's current Holdings allocation %, grouped by the bucket assignment published in the Coverage Book. Recomputed whenever Holdings updates — not a one-time snapshot.

Simulate a trim or add

Pick a bucket and a change in book weight (in percentage points). The new weight assumes the proceeds are raised as cash or added from cash — not funded by trimming another bucket, since that would require a second assumption this tool doesn't make for you.

Why only two buckets have a hard ceiling

Core is meant to be the majority of the book by design — there's no ceiling to check it against, only a floor of intent. Emerging Growth is deliberately flexible. Index Hedge is a floor, not a cap: SPY, VOO, QQQ, and SCHD are meant to always be held as ballast, so there's no upside limit to flag. Speculative Sleeve and Leveraged/Derivative are the two places the IPS draws a hard, checkable line, because that's where an unmonitored drift would actually change the risk profile of the book.

Where this connects to AEA's other tools

This checks bucket-level drift; the Compliance Ledger checks the single-position cap and every other written rule; the Concentration Premium study checks what the bucket structure can't see — correlation between positions that sit in different buckets but move together anyway.

Methodology & limitations

Bucket weights. Each of the 32 held positions is assigned to exactly one of five buckets (see the Coverage Book for the assignment). Bucket weight is the sum of each member position's current allocation % from Holdings, which updates as part of the site's daily pipeline — this page's bar chart reflects that same data, refreshed on each content update rather than computed live from a market feed on page load.

The simulator's assumption. A simulated trim or add changes only the selected bucket's weight; it does not redistribute the delta across the other four buckets, since doing so would require assuming which specific positions absorb it. Treat the output as "what this bucket's weight would be," not a full rebalanced portfolio.

Not investment advice. This is a mechanical policy-compliance check, not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security.
