Why SanDisk and Micron, not Western Digital
SanDisk (NAND flash) and Micron (DRAM, with some NAND) are my two direct memory bets, and I hold both deliberately because they're exposed to different sides of the same AI-storage demand story rather than being redundant. Western Digital, mechanically a storage-industry peer, is a genuinely different business — spinning hard-disk drives rather than solid-state memory chips — and its EV/EBITDA of 52.48x is actually richer than SanDisk's despite HDDs being the more commoditized, lower-growth side of storage. I don't hold WDC because it doesn't give me the same direct high-bandwidth-memory-for-AI exposure that Micron does, and it duplicates rather than diversifies the SanDisk NAND thesis without adding a distinct angle.
