Why Vertiv over Eaton
Vertiv is a purer bet on data-center buildout specifically — cooling units, power management, and switchgear sized for AI-era power density — while Eaton is a much larger, more diversified electrical-equipment company where data centers are one end market among several including utilities, industrial, and residential. Vertiv trades at a real premium to Eaton on EV/EBITDA (48.76x vs. 27.67x), which is the market pricing Vertiv's more concentrated data-center exposure and faster growth trajectory. The trade-off is real: Eaton's diversification is a genuine risk-reducer that Vertiv doesn't have, but I want concentrated exposure to data-center construction specifically, not diluted across Eaton's broader industrial base.
