September 2026 · Interim Note
The Book Gained $929.03 Today. SanDisk Alone Was Worth $370 of It
The book gained $929.03 today, the best single day I've logged since starting this site. SanDisk alone was worth $370.02 of it after the stock rose 11.90% on a bullish Lynx Equity Strategies analyst note, covered in full in today’s News piece. Micron added $116.86, AMD added $107.05, and the leveraged Nebius ETF added $98.10 — four positions that, combined with the rest of the book, more than offset losses in ServiceNow (−$25.98), SpaceX (−$14.32), Netflix (−$13.26) and Alphabet (−$12.06). A stronger-than-expected August jobs report raised Fed rate-hike odds for September, and the index barely moved anyway. No trades.
Where the $929.03 actually came from

Five memory-and-chip-adjacent positions drove nearly three-quarters of the day's gain before four losers took a bite out of it
Cumulative dollar attribution, September 3 to September 4, 2026 close. “Rest of book” nets the remaining 23 positions not itemized individually, including Vertiv, Talen Energy and Estée Lauder on the positive side. Today is close to the mirror image of two days ago, when a single cybersecurity earnings report dragged five names down together. Today one thread — memory-chip and AI-hardware exposure — ran through four of my five largest dollar movers, three of which (SanDisk, Micron, AMD) sit in different buckets of my own allocation framework (Core, Core, Core) but share the same underlying demand story. Today’s Opinion piece goes into why the market rewarded that story today while punishing richly-valued growth names with no comparable news of their own.

The position that made today's number the biggest of the month
AMD rose 4.69% to $477.57 and was my third-largest dollar contributor at +$107.05 on 5 shares, up 139.58% against my $199.34 average cost. I found no dated, company-specific headline explaining AMD's own move beyond the same AI-infrastructure and memory-chip coverage lifting the rest of the sector Friday. If SanDisk reaches Lynx Equity Strategies' full anticipated upside — the same 49% figure detailed in today's News piece — my own 2-share SanDisk position would be worth sizing out explicitly, since it is by far my largest single dollar exposure to today's story.
| If SanDisk reaches… | My 2-share position value | Gain vs. my $966.42 cost |
|---|---|---|
| $1,740.00 (today's close, unchanged) | $3,480.00 | +260.09% |
| $2,592.60 (Lynx Equity Strategies' 49% anticipated-upside target) | $5,185.20 | +436.54% |
Assumptions, stated plainly. This table applies Lynx Equity Strategies' reported 49% anticipated-upside target for SanDisk, via Motley Fool coverage dated September 4, 2026, directly to my own 2-share position and $483.21 average cost basis. It is one analyst's dated call on the stock, not this site's forecast, and it says nothing about when — or whether — that target is reached. My position is already up 260.09% against cost before any of this scenario plays out; the Holding Period exists precisely so a number like that doesn't force a decision on its own.
No trades today
The Blackout Rule and Holding Period exist for exactly this kind of session. A $929.03 gain driven by one analyst note is not new information about any company's underlying fundamentals until I've actually read the note in full, which I have not — I've relied on the same Motley Fool and Zacks coverage cited in today's News and Opinion pieces. I made no trades.
